DVD to DivX ;-)

Until now, I believe that there has not been a true guide that can walk you through the exact process of creating a DivX ;-) video from a DVD. I created these guides for my own reference, and now they are available to you. As a collaboration of some of the best guides, I think you will find this to be your final stop in the search for a DivX creation guide. If you follow the steps exactly, you should get a good quality DivX ;-) movie. I have listed the guides in the order in which events will occur. When you finish one, simply move on to the next.

Things to Consider First

In order to make DivX movies from a DVD, you must have at least the following things :

DVD-ROM drive
PII 300mhz
32 MB RAM

In case you didn't know, a regular CD-ROM drive will not be able to read the DVD disk. That is why DivX is so cool because not having a DVD-ROM drive is no longer a barrier, stopping people from watching movies on their PC. 300mhz is the BARE minimum, and if you have one of these, it will more than likely take a whole day to encode your movie. 32 MB of RAM is just a good number. But the more RAM you have, the happier your PC is.

Here they are :

Ripping  the DVD to Hard Disk
Encoding the Video
Extracting Audio
Normalizing the Wave File
Merging the Video/Audio
Fixing Audio Synch
